Here are some helpful tips when looking for a quote:

Work with an honest, knowledgeable broker. Because you don't deal with insurance on a daily basis, you may not know what to look for and the questions to ask when buying a policy. That's why it's important to find a broker you can trust.

Become familiar with insurance terminology. Find out if you qualify for a Risk Retention Group (RRG). If you do, ask your broker to quote a good RRG . There are only a handful in California. Choose one that does not have a manifestation clause. Manifestation policies greatly reduce your coverage. Those who qualify can typically reduce their premiums by 30% or more.
